№4 is the fourth studio album by American rock band Stone Temple Pilots, released on 26 October 1999 on Atlantic. It follows Tiny Music… Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop and sees the band turning back towards the harder rock of their early records, while folding in touches of heavy metal, psychedelic rock and alternative rock.

The circumstances around it were far from ideal. Singer Scott Weiland received a one-year jail sentence shortly before release, so there was little promotion. Even so, the record went Platinum in the US in August 2000 and in Canada a year later. "Down" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance, while "Sour Girl" became one of the band's biggest songs and their only entry on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 78. It's a worthwhile listen for anyone who loved the band's heavier side.
