The ProjeKcts
The ProjeKcts is a box set gathering four live albums by the experimental sub-groups of King Crimson that went by the name ProjeKcts. The recordings were made between December 1997 and March 1999, and the set came out on 26 October 1999 on Discipline Global Mobile.
It sits in the stretch between THRAK in 1995 and The ConstruKction of Light in 2000, when the band explored ideas in smaller combinations of players. Each disc captures one of those four sub-groups on stage, so the box works as a kind of field notebook of progressive rock in the making. It suits listeners who want to hear King Crimson working things out in public, away from the polish of a studio album.
