Live at Cap d’Agde 1982
Live at Cap d'Agde 1982 captures King Crimson in the early 1980s, during the run of shows that followed Discipline and came around the time of Beat. It arrived in 1999 through the King Crimson Collector's Club, a series of archive releases for dedicated listeners, and it comes with liner notes by Robert Fripp, one of the band's two guitarists.
The first six tracks were recorded at the Arena in Cap d'Agde, France, on 26 August 1982. The last three come from the Arena in Fréjus the following night. The full performance was also filmed, and the footage appeared on VHS as The Noise and later on DVD as part of Neal and Jack and Me. If you want to hear this line-up on stage rather than in the studio, this is a good place to start, and the video makes it easy to see how the band played together.
