The 21st Century Guide to King Crimson, Volume 2: 1981–2003
The 21st Century Guide to King Crimson, Volume 2: 1981–2003 is a four-CD box set released on 18 October 2005 on Discipline Global Mobile. It follows the previous year's Volume One, which covered 1969 to 1974, and picks up the band's story from the early 1980s onwards.
Across the discs you get both studio and live recordings from that later phase, running from Discipline through Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair, then on to THRAK, The ConstruKction of Light and The Power to Believe. It makes a handy way to hear how this English progressive rock band kept changing over more than two decades. A two-disc distillation of both volumes, The Condensed 21st Century Guide to King Crimson, followed in 2006.
