Counterparts is the fifteenth studio album by the Canadian band Rush, released on 18 October 1993 through Anthem Records. It arrived after the band finished touring Roll the Bones in mid-1992 and took a break before starting on a follow-up. Here Rush sit comfortably between hard rock and progressive rock, with the guitar-driven approach that marks this stretch of their career.

It was a big success, reaching No. 2 in the United States, one of the band's two highest-charting albums there, and No. 6 in Canada. The first single, "Stick It Out", spent four weeks at the top of Billboard's Album Rock Tracks chart. The instrumental "Leave That Thing Alone" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1994, and it is a good place to hear the trio at their most nimble. The album was remastered in 2004, and again in 2015 by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios.
