Album
Snakes & Arrows
Snakes & Arrows is Rush's eighteenth studio album, released on 1 May 2007. It arrived after the R30 anniversary tour wrapped up in October 2004 and the band took a year away, agreeing to start on a follow-up in January 2006. It sits between Vapor Trails and Clockwork Angels in their story.
The record was made in five weeks with co-producer Nick Raskulinecz, a fan of the group whose approach and technique each member praised. It includes three instrumentals, more than on any other Rush album, and one of them, "Malignant Narcissism", earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. It reached No. 3 in both Canada and the United States, and Classic Rock later counted it among the ten essential progressive rock albums of the decade. A remaster from Abbey Road Studios followed in 2016.
