Test for Echo
Test for Echo is the sixteenth studio album by the Canadian band Rush, released on 10 September 1996 on Anthem Records. It followed Counterparts and was the last Rush record co-produced by Peter Collins. The title track reached No. 1 on the mainstream rock chart, and the band took the album on a world tour across 1996 and 1997.
It also marks the end of a chapter. After the tour, drummer Neil Peart suffered the deaths of his daughter and then his wife, and the band went quiet for five years, not recording again until 2001. "Driven" became a bass showcase for Geddy Lee on stage, while "Resist" was later reworked as an acoustic number on the Vapor Trails and R30 tours. Worth hearing as the last Rush album before that long silence. It has been remastered several times, most recently at Abbey Road Studios in 2015.
