Starkers in Tokyo
Starkers in Tokyo is a live acoustic record by Whitesnake, released on 10 September 1997. It strips the band right back in the manner of the Unplugged series: just David Coverdale on vocals and Adrian Vandenberg on acoustic guitar. It was recorded at night on 5 July 1997 at the EMI studios in Japan, in front of a small audience of fans, and mixed the following day at Toshiba EMI studios.
The show supported Restless Heart, the band's then latest album, and it includes an acoustic take on their biggest hit, "Here I Go Again". The album first came out in Japan alone, alongside VHS and Laserdisc versions of the performance, with a release elsewhere following in June 1998. It later resurfaced on the second disc of the 2018 collection Unzipped, while the video was remixed in 5.1 and stereo for that set's DVD.
