Three Dollar Bill, Yall$ is the debut album from Limp Bizkit, released on 1 July 1997 through Flip and Interscope Records. It's where the American band first set out the sound that would define them: a deliberately abrasive, angry mix of heavy metal and hip hop, which they felt would help them win a following.

The route to the studio ran through Korn. Their bassist, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, urged producer Ross Robinson to hear the band's demo, and Robinson was taken with their drive and sound enough to sign on. The singles tell the story neatly: "Counterfeit" blends hip hop and metal influences, while "Faith" is a cover of George Michael's 1987 song of the same name. It's the starting point for everything that followed in the Limp Bizkit catalogue, and a useful snapshot of nu metal taking shape.
