Snakebite
Snakebite is the first official release from the British rock band Whitesnake, issued as an EP in 1978. It began life as a four-track record, put out mainly in the UK, with a sleeve titled David Coverdale's Whitesnake and photographs of the band playing live.
That autumn it was repackaged as an album for markets outside the UK, with four extra studio tracks taken from David Coverdale's second solo album, Northwinds. It sits just ahead of the band's first studio album, Trouble, also from 1978, and the EP's tracks later turned up as bonus material on the 2006 remaster of that record. For anyone tracing Whitesnake's blues rock and hard rock roots, it is the place where the story starts.
