Live and Dangerous is Thin Lizzy's double live album, released on 2 June 1978 through Vertigo. It arrived after Jailbreak, Johnny the Fox and Bad Reputation, and it came about because producer Tony Visconti lacked the time for a full studio session. The band instead went through archive recordings from earlier tours and assembled the strongest performances, taken from London in 1976 and from Philadelphia and Toronto in 1977.

Further work followed in Paris in early 1978, where studio overdubs were added. Just how much was touched up has been argued over ever since. It reached No. 2 in the UK and sold over half a million copies there, and it regularly turns up on lists of the greatest live albums. It also marks guitarist Brian Robertson's last appearance with the band, as he left soon after its release, making it a snapshot of a particular Lizzy line-up.
