Wild One: The Very Best of Thin Lizzy
Wild One: The Very Best of Thin Lizzy is a compilation from the Irish rock band, released in January 1996 on Vertigo. It appeared ten years after the death of frontman Phil Lynott in 1986, and was put together as a tribute to him. It gathers the band's hard rock highlights from a run of studio albums that stretched from their self-titled debut in 1971 to Thunder and Lightning in 1983.
There is a small twist in the title. It borrows from the song "Wild One", and the chorus is quoted on the back of the sleeve, yet the track itself is not on the album. A limited two-CD edition added a second disc of rare live tracks, drawn from limited edition releases across the band's career, which makes it worth seeking out if you want more than the hits.
