The Continuing Saga of the Ageing Orphans is a Thin Lizzy compilation from Decca Records, released in 1979 (UK and Europe, September 1979). It gathers eleven tracks from the band's first three albums and their rare New Day EP, though it isn't quite the straightforward look back that the sleeve suggests.

Most of the songs differ from the versions fans knew. They were remixed and reworked during Christmas 1977, with newly recorded material added. Midge Ure of Ultravox and Gary Moore both appear on some of the fresh parts. Only "Mama Nature Said", "The Hero and the Madman" and "Vagabond of the Western World", all from Vagabonds of the Western World, are untouched. Oddly, the title track of the first album's "Saga of the Ageing Orphan" is left off. The record has long been out of print, but the altered tracks resurfaced as bonus material on the 2010 remasters of the first three albums.
