Tusk is Fleetwood Mac's twelfth studio album, a double set released on 12 October 1979 by Warner Bros. Records. It followed Rumours, which had sold ten million copies within a few months of release, and the band chose not to repeat that formula. Lindsey Buckingham's sparser arrangements and the influence of post-punk gave the record a more experimental edge than anything they had done before.

It was also costly: around $1.4 million to make, which at the time made it the most expensive rock album recorded. The label saw four million sales as a commercial disappointment, but the album has since earned its place in lists such as NME's 500 Greatest Albums and the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. A nine-month world tour followed, and it produced the Fleetwood Mac Live album in 1980.
