Kiln House, released on 18 September 1970 on Reprise Records, is the first Fleetwood Mac album made after founder Peter Green left the band. It is also the last to feature guitarist Jeremy Spencer. Sitting between the blues-rock of the Green years and the very different band that followed, it is a record of transition, rooted in rock and blues rock.

Christine McVie was at the recording sessions, adding backing vocals and keyboards and contributing the cover art. She had not yet formally joined, but became a full member shortly after the album was finished, in time for the tour. It reached number 39 in the UK, and numbers 67 and 69 in Canada and the United States, which at that point made it the band's highest-charting album in both countries. Worth hearing for the moment it captures: a band finding its feet and a line-up on the cusp of change.
