The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac
The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac is a compilation put together to build interest in Say You Will, the band's studio album due the following year. The US edition came out as a double album on 12 October 2002, while the UK got a single disc. It reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for 42 weeks. It has since been certified 4× Platinum by the RIAA.
The US version concentrates on the Californian era from 1975 onwards, and adds a few extras for devoted fans: the B-side "Silver Springs", a previously unreleased performance of "Go Insane" from The Dance, and rare single remixes of "Rhiannon" and "Sisters of the Moon". An enhanced section brings live performances, interviews, videos and footage of the band making their next record. The UK disc is not enhanced, but it reaches back further, with three tracks from the Peter Green-led blues years.
