Album
Bounce
Bounce is the eighth studio album by Bon Jovi, released on 8 October 2002. It followed Crush from 2000 and came before Have a Nice Day. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora produced it with Luke Ebbin, recording at Sanctuary II Studio in New Jersey, close to the band's home turf.
The record is shaped by the September 11 attacks, which Jon Bon Jovi experienced from very near New York City. The title nods to the city's and the country's ability to bounce back, and the cover shows a stylised radio telescope dish at the Very Large Array, photographed by Kevin Westenberg. It entered the US Billboard 200 at number two, then the band's highest debut, though it became their first album there to miss platinum status. It is worth hearing as a snapshot of a band responding to a national moment.
