This Left Feels Right
This Left Feels Right finds Bon Jovi looking back over their own catalogue and reworking it. Rather than simply remixing old tracks, the band recorded fresh versions of songs from earlier albums, with many of their biggest hits given a more sombre treatment. Jon Bon Jovi described it as a "trip down memory lane".
It arrived in November 2003, between Bounce and Have a Nice Day in the band's run of studio albums, and reached No. 14 on the Billboard 200. The appeal is in hearing how different these songs can sound. Several of the upbeat 1980s numbers are turned into soulful ballads, so familiar choruses land in a new light. It suits fans who know the originals well and want to hear them slowed down and reshaped.
