Album
Done With Mirrors
Done With Mirrors is Aerosmith's eighth studio album, released in November 1985 on Geffen, their first for the label. It was meant to mark their comeback, and it brought guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford back into the fold after Perry left in 1979 and Whitford in 1981. For the first time since the 1970s, the classic guitar partnership was on record together again.
The reviews were positive, though sales fell short of what had been hoped for. It sits between Rock in a Hard Place (1982) and Permanent Vacation (1987), a transitional record in the story of a band finding its footing again. If you like your hard rock gritty and unpolished, it's worth hearing as the point where the original group began to reassemble.
