Just Push Play
Just Push Play is Aerosmith's thirteenth studio album, released in March 2001 on Columbia. It followed Nine Lives from 1997 and was co-produced by Marti Frederiksen and Mark Hudson, who also worked with the band as songwriters. The record leans on hard rock and blues roots, with a more modern polish than the band's 1970s albums.
It made a strong start, entering the Billboard 200 at number two with more than 240,000 copies sold in its first week, and it went Platinum in the US within a month. The first single, "Jaded", reached the Top 10 in the US and elsewhere. "Fly Away from Here", "Sunshine" and the title track followed, with the last two reaching the US Mainstream Rock chart. It's a useful record for hearing how Aerosmith sounded as they entered a new decade.
