The Killing Kind

Released5 March 1996
Popularity33.2

Overkill's The Killing Kind is the band's eighth studio album, released on 5 March 1996. It sits between W.F.O. from 1994 and From the Underground and Below from 1997, and it is filed under both groove metal and thrash metal, which gives a fair idea of where the band's sound stood at the time.

It marks a few changes for the group. Joe Comeau and Sebastian Marino make their first appearance on an Overkill record here, and the album came out through CMC International, with the Concrete label also credited. Their earlier albums had come out through either Megaforce or Atlantic. For anyone following the band's path through the 1990s, it is the record that shows them with a fresh set of players and a new home.
