Album
The Grinding Wheel
The Grinding Wheel is Overkill's eighteenth studio album, released on 10 February 2017 through Nuclear Blast. It sits between White Devil Armory (2014) and The Wings of War (2019), and it blends thrash metal with a strong streak of traditional heavy metal.
It is also the last Overkill record to feature drummer Ron Lipnicki, who left shortly after it came out. Jason Bittner, of Shadows Fall and formerly Flotsam and Jetsam, took over for the tour and for the next album. If you want to hear a long-serving thrash band at a particular turning point in its line-up, this one is worth your time.
