Necroshine
Necroshine is Overkill's tenth studio album, released on 23 February 1999. It follows From the Underground and Below and sits in the middle of the band's long run of records, blending thrash and groove metal. It was the first time in the band's career that the line-up stayed the same across more than two studio albums, although guitarist Sebastian Marino left shortly before it came out.
The record is notable for its guest voice: Blitz's sister, Mary Ellsworth, sings backing vocals on "Let Us Prey" and shares a duet with him on "Revelation", a first for Overkill. The title track has stayed with the band ever since, turning up at almost every live show since the album appeared. Necroshine was later reissued alongside From the Underground and Below in a 2003 box set, which makes it easy to hear the two records together.
