M‐16
M-16 is Sodom's tenth studio album, released on 22 October 2001 through Steamhammer. The German thrash metal band built the record around a single theme, the Vietnam War, and took its title from the rifle carried by many American soldiers during that conflict.
It arrived in the band's second decade, following Code Red in 1999 and coming ahead of the self-titled Sodom album of 2006. As a concept album, it gives a band long associated with thrash a clear subject to work around from start to finish, which makes it a record worth hearing for anyone who likes their metal with a firm sense of purpose.
