Agent Orange
Agent Orange is the third studio album by the German thrash metal band Sodom, released on 1 June 1989. It followed Obsessed by Cruelty and Persecution Mania, and it turned out to be the band's commercial breakthrough. It became their first album to enter the German charts, reaching number 36, and it sold 100,000 copies in Germany alone.
The lyrics dwell on the Vietnam War. The title track takes its cue from the defoliant, and another song is dedicated to the AC-47 ground assault aircraft. "Ausgebombt" later appeared with German lyrics on an EP of the same name. This was guitarist Frank Blackfire's last record with the band before he joined Kreator, and he didn't return until 2018. Revolver considers it an essential release in the genre, and a 2010 digipak reissue added bonus tracks, lyrics and rare photos.
