Shrinking Violet
Shrinking Violet is the sixth studio album by hard rock band L.A. Guns, released on 1 June 1999. It is the only record the band made with singer Jizzy Pearl, which sets it apart in a catalogue that otherwise leans on other voices. Gilby Clarke, formerly of Guns N' Roses, produced it and also added extra guitars to the track "Dreamtime".
The album arrived in the late 1990s, between Hollywood Rehearsal (1997) and Cocked & Re-Loaded (2000), a stretch when the group kept working steadily. It was reissued on 24 May 2010 through Favored Nations, with bonus tracks and new artwork. For fans tracing the band's changing line-ups, it is the one place to hear Pearl fronting L.A. Guns, with Clarke's production adding a link to another corner of the Sunset Strip story.
