Rips the Covers Off is a compilation from L.A. Guns, released on 27 April 2004 through Irond. Some copies carry the title Rips Off the Covers. It is credited to the Phil Lewis version of the band and is the first L.A. Guns record to feature guitarist Stacey Blades.

The first eleven tracks are studio covers recorded with Blades, and Andy Johns produced them. The last two are live versions of "Revolution" and "Don't Look at Me That Way", played with guitarists Keri Kelli and Brent Muscat and mixed by the band's live sound engineer, Jay Frederic, during one of their tours. Covers were not new territory for the band, since a different line-up had already tackled Led Zeppelin's "Custard Pie" on Hollywood Rehearsal. For glam metal fans, this is a look at how the group handled other people's songs in the years before Tales From the Strip arrived in 2005.
