Greatest Hits and Black Beauties
Greatest Hits and Black Beauties is a 1999 compilation from the glam metal band L.A. Guns, released through Deadline Music on 15 November 1999. Despite the title, it isn't a collection of the original hit recordings. It is closer to a studio album in its own right, with older L.A. Guns songs re-recorded in a newer style alongside a handful of new tracks.
It arrived in the same year as the band's studio album Shrinking Violet, and it is worth hearing if you fancy the group's back catalogue given a different treatment rather than a straight replay. The same re-recordings turned up again three years later on Ultimate LA Guns, which was also billed as a greatest hits set, so this is where that material first appeared.
