Great Zeppelin: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin
Great Zeppelin: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin is a live album of Led Zeppelin covers by the American hard rock band Great White. It was recorded at a concert at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California, in December 1996. The French label Axe Killer put it out first, and Deadline issued the American edition on 1999-03-16.
It sits alongside the band's other covers work, and the whole show later appeared in the double-CD compilation A Double Dose, paired with their covers record Recover. A very rare vinyl pressing dropped four tracks to fit the format, and the album was reissued in 2005 as Great White Salutes Led Zeppelin. Singer Jack Russell later followed it with a sequel, Great Zeppelin II, with his own version of the band. It is a good one for fans who like hearing a Sunset Strip-era band pay its respects to the records that shaped it.
