Recovery: Live!
Recovery: Live! is a live album from the American hard rock band Great White, released on Enigma in 1987. It arrived between Shot in the Dark and Once Bitten, and it looks back as much as forward. The US edition pairs five cover songs, recorded direct to two-track in 1986, with five live recordings from 1983, so you hear the band both in their early club days and in a stripped-down mode a few years later.
The album exists in several forms, which makes it a fun one to hunt down. The CD adds the songs from the On Your Knees EP, a reissue of the original Out of the Night EP. A ten-track Columbia Record Club CD has a different mastering. The European release swaps in five songs from a 1987 Marquee show, and the Japanese edition mixes US tracks with a few studio cuts from Shot in the Dark and Once Bitten.
