Early Days & Latter Days: The Best of Led Zeppelin, Volumes One and Two
Early Days & Latter Days gathers Led Zeppelin's recordings into two volumes, issued by Atlantic. Early Days covers 1968 to 1971, while Latter Days picks up from 1973 and runs to 1979, so between them they draw on every one of the band's studio albums. The two discs were later joined as a single set, released in the United States in November 2002.
Because Led Zeppelin largely steered clear of singles, this isn't a conventional hits package, and the band never had a Billboard number one single. Instead it works as a tour through the albums themselves, split neatly into an early and a late chapter. The combined set went platinum in the US. Both volumes have since gone out of print, replaced by the 2007 compilation Mothership.
