Album
Come Out and Play
Come Out and Play is Twisted Sister's fourth studio album, issued by Atlantic in November 1985. It followed Stay Hungry, the 1984 record that had taken the New York band to their widest audience, and it arrived with a lot to live up to. Its sound sits in the hard rock and heavy metal camp the band had made their own.
The reception was cooler than for its predecessor, both from critics and in the shops, though the album still went Gold in the United States with more than 500,000 copies sold. It makes a fascinating listen in the band's story, catching them just after their commercial high point and before Love Is for Suckers arrived in 1987. Put it on if you want to hear what Twisted Sister sounded like in the aftermath of their biggest success.
