The Essentials is a compilation from the American heavy metal band Twisted Sister, released by Atlantic on 17 September 2002.

It arrived midway through a long gap in the band's recording story. Their studio run began with Under the Blade in 1982 and ended with Love Is for Suckers in 1987, and the next new studio record, Still Hungry, didn't appear until 2004. For anyone coming to the band fresh, or wanting a single disc that gathers their Atlantic-era work, this collection sits neatly between the two chapters.
