Album
Torn Arteries
Torn Arteries is the seventh studio album by Carcass, the English extreme metal band, and it came out on 17 September 2021 through Nuclear Blast. The title comes from a demo tape that former drummer Ken Owen recorded in his teenage years. It was originally due on 7 August 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it back by more than a year.
It follows Surgical Steel, which arrived eight years earlier in 2013, and it is the first Carcass album since Heartwork in 1993 to keep the same line-up as its predecessor: Jeff Walker on bass and vocals, Bill Steer on guitar and Daniel Wilding on drums. It is also the first record to have no involvement from Owen. For anyone who has followed the band from Reek of Putrefaction through to their return, it shows a settled unit carrying on the death metal story.
