With The Beatles
With the Beatles is the band's second studio album, released on 22 November 1963 on Parlophone, just eight months after their debut, Please Please Me. George Martin produced it, and the record balances eight originals with six covers, drawn mostly from rock and roll and Motown R&B. Seven of the originals are by Lennon–McCartney, while "Don't Bother Me" is George Harrison's first recorded composition on his own.
The sessions also produced "I Want to Hold Your Hand", backed by "This Boy", which was issued as a separate single. Robert Freeman's cover photograph has been imitated by plenty of other groups since. In the United States the tracks were divided between Meet the Beatles! and The Beatles' Second Album, while Canada got it as Beatlemania! With the Beatles. It appeared at number 420 in Rolling Stone's 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums.
