Souvenir of Their Visit to America
Souvenir of Their Visit to America is a four-song EP of Beatles music, put out by Vee-Jay Records on 23 March 1964. It was the first of three Beatles EPs issued in the United States, and the only one to come from Vee-Jay.
The tracks had already appeared on the label's album Introducing... The Beatles, so this was a repackaging rather than new material. It sits among the many American releases that carved up the band's early recordings in 1964, a year that also brought Meet The Beatles!, Twist and Shout and The Beatles' Second Album. The EP did not chart, which makes it something of a curiosity for collectors. It is worth knowing as a small piece of the band's American story, tied to the rock and roll sound of their earliest records.
