Help!
Help! is the Beatles' fifth studio album and the soundtrack to their film of the same name, released on 6 August 1965. Seven of its fourteen songs, including the singles "Help!" and "Ticket to Ride", featured in the film and fill the first side of the record. The second side holds "Yesterday", the most-covered song ever written. In North America it appeared as a true soundtrack, pairing those seven songs with instrumental film music, while the other tracks were scattered across Beatles VI, Rubber Soul and Yesterday and Today.
What makes it worth hearing is the band's widening studio ambition. They kept layering their sound through multitracking, added a string quartet to "Yesterday" for their first taste of Baroque style, and brought in flutes on "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away". In the US, mainstream critics began taking the group seriously as artists, and it became the first rock album nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. It topped the British and American charts.
