EP
The Beatles’ Hits
The Beatles' Hits is an EP from 6 September 1963, issued on Parlophone under the catalogue number GEP 8880. It was the group's second British EP, and it came out in mono only. Copies also went on sale in Australia and New Zealand.
It arrived in the same year as the band's first two albums, Please Please Me and With The Beatles, so it belongs to the early run of releases that introduced them to record buyers. For anyone tracing how the Beatles' music reached listeners in the early 1960s, it is a small but telling piece of the picture, and a handy reminder of how the EP format sat alongside their albums.
