The Beatles
This is the 50th anniversary reissue of The Beatles, the 1968 double album better known as the White Album. It came out in 2018, with a UK and Europe release on 2018-11-09, through Apple Records. The set marks half a century since the original and gives the record an expanded presentation rather than a simple repackaging.
The main draw is a new stereo remix by Sam Okell and Giles Martin. Giles is the son of George Martin, the Beatles' producer, who died in 2016, so the project carries a family link back to the band's studio story. The album itself ranges widely across rock, pop, hard rock, psychedelia and experimental sounds, which makes a fresh mix a good excuse to revisit it. If you know the White Album well, this is a chance to hear it again with new clarity.
