The Soundhouse Tapes is Iron Maiden's debut EP, released on 9 November 1979 through Rock Hard Records. It gathers three songs, "Iron Maiden", "Invasion" and "Prowler", taken from a demo recorded at Spaceward Studios on 30 and 31 December 1978. It was the first time the band's music appeared on record, a year before their self-titled debut album.

Because everything was captured in a single session, the songs sound rougher than the versions that followed on that album and the singles around it. Only 5,000 copies were pressed and sold by mail order, and they were gone within a few weeks, even though major retail chains tried to order large quantities. That scarcity has made the EP a prized collector's item.
