Album
Senjutsu
Senjutsu is Iron Maiden's seventeenth studio album, released on 3 September 2021 through BMG. The title is Japanese for "tactics", and the record arrived as a double album, following The Book of Souls from 2015 in a catalogue that stretches back to the band's self-titled debut in 1980.
It was well received by critics and did well commercially, with much of the praise going to its ambitious, expansive scale. Two singles, "The Writing on the Wall" and "Stratego", were released ahead of the album. If you like Maiden at their most sprawling and heavy metal in the grand old manner, this is a record that rewards a long, unhurried listen.
