Morning Star

Morning Star is the seventh studio album by the Swedish band Entombed, released on 3 September 2001 through Threeman Recordings. It follows Uprising from 2000 and comes before Inferno in 2003, sitting in the middle of the band's run of records from Left Hand Path onwards.

The record is the group's most experimental to that point. It steers back towards a more traditional death metal sound overall, yet it keeps hold of the death 'n' roll elements that had shaped their recent work. It also brings in a handful of straightforward, fast-paced death/thrash tracks, something Entombed had not done before. If you want to hear a band mixing old instincts with a few new tricks, it's a record worth putting on.
