Serpent Saints: The Ten Amendments
Serpent Saints: The Ten Amendments is the ninth album by Swedish death metal band Entombed, released in June 2007 on Candlelight Records. It arrived after Inferno in 2003 and brought changes to the line-up: bassist Nico Elgstrand and drummer Olle Dahlstedt joined, while longtime guitarist Uffe Cederlund was no longer in the band.
The record is best heard as a return to Entombed's death metal roots. Even more than Morning Star before it, it largely sets aside the hard rock-influenced passages that coloured parts of their catalogue, and keeps things in more traditional territory. It also stands as the last album from the regular Entombed line-up. The band split in 2014, and Lars-Göran Petrov carried on with most of that group as Entombed AD, making three more albums and touring until his death in 2021.
