Entombed
Entombed is a compilation from the Swedish death metal band Entombed, released on 25 March 1997 through Earache Records. It gathers material from the group's earlier EPs and adds several tracks that had not been released before, so it works as a handy side door into their early years rather than a conventional studio album.
It arrived in the same year as their studio album DCLXVI: To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth, and it follows a run that began with Left Hand Path in 1990, Clandestine in 1991 and Wolverine Blues in 1993. For anyone who knows those records and wants the odds and ends in one place, or fancies hearing the unreleased tracks, it fills in some of the gaps around the main story.
