Nine Lives is Aerosmith's twelfth studio album, released in 1997. It followed Get a Grip and marked the band's return to Columbia Records, the label behind Rock in a Hard Place back in 1982. Aerosmith produced it themselves alongside Kevin Shirley, who steered the sessions.

It did well on both sides of the commercial ledger. In the United States it reached number one on the Billboard 200 and sold more than two million copies. One of its singles, "Pink", picked up a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. For anyone tracing the band's story through the 1990s, this is the record that shows them still at the top of the American charts well into their third decade.
