Hear in the Now Frontier is Queensrÿche's sixth studio album, released in March 1997 on EMI. It follows Promised Land from 1994 and was recorded partly at Studio Litho in Seattle, the home studio of Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard. Toby Wright, who had recently worked with Alice in Chains, engineered and mixed it.

The sound is more basic and stripped back than anything the band had put out before, and many listeners disliked the move towards the mainstream. The album debuted at No. 19 but soon dropped off the charts. Even so, "Sign of the Times" and "You" got plenty of airplay, and both later appeared on best-of collections, as did "Some People Fly". It also holds a curiosity: on "All I Want", guitarist Chris DeGarmo takes the lead vocal, the only time another member has sung lead on a studio track in place of Geoff Tate. DeGarmo left the band after the album came out.
