Queensrÿche

Queensrÿche are a progressive metal band from Bellevue, Washington, who formed in 1980 under the name Cross+Fire, later becoming the Mob before settling on their current name in 1982. The original line-up paired guitarists Michael Wilton and Chris DeGarmo with drummer Scott Rockenfield and bassist Eddie Jackson, with singer Geoff Tate joining in 1982. They are often grouped with Dream Theater and Fates Warning as progressive metal's "Big Three".

Their self-released 1982 EP won them a following beyond Washington and a deal with EMI. Operation: Mindcrime (1988), a concept album, is widely ranked among metal's finest, and Empire (1990) brought the hit "Silent Lucidity". Rage for Order and The Warning are also well loved. Tate left in 2012, and Todd La Torre now sings on Condition Hüman, The Verdict and Digital Noise Alliance.
