Helloween are a German power metal band who formed in Hamburg in 1984, drawing on members of Iron Fist, Gentry, Second Hell and Powerfool. The original line-up was Kai Hansen on vocals and guitar, Michael Weikath on guitar, Markus Grosskopf on bass and Ingo Schwichtenberg on drums. Michael Kiske became lead vocalist in 1986, and the band's fast, melodic heavy metal has often been called among the most influential to come out of 1980s Europe.

Their best-known records are Walls of Jericho (1985) and the two Keeper of the Seven Keys albums, released in 1987 and 1988. Hansen left in 1989 to form Gamma Ray, and Andi Deris took over vocals in 1994. Since 2016 the band have featured Hansen and Kiske alongside Deris, Weikath, Grosskopf, Sascha Gerstner and Daniel Löble. Giants & Monsters followed in 2025, and the band have sold more than 10 million records worldwide.
