Accept are a German heavy metal band from Solingen, formed in 1976. Their first settled line-up brought together singer Udo Dirkschneider, guitarists Wolf Hoffmann and Jörg Fischer, bassist Peter Baltes and drummer Stefan Kaufmann. Hoffmann is the one constant through many changes. The band played a part in the development of speed and thrash metal and were a key piece of the German metal scene of the early to mid-1980s.

Their first real commercial success came with Balls to the Wall in 1983, their only album certified gold in both the United States and Canada. Restless and Wild, Metal Heart and Breaker are also among their best-loved records. After splitting and reforming several times, they returned in 2009 with Mark Tornillo on vocals, and the six albums since, from Blood of the Nations (2010) to Humanoid (2024), have each reached the German top ten.
