Album
Too Mean to Die
Too Mean to Die is the sixteenth studio album by the German heavy metal band Accept, released on 29 January 2021 through Nuclear Blast. It arrived after The Rise of Chaos in 2017 and marked a few changes in the camp. Martin Motnik took over bass duties from original member Peter Baltes, who had left in 2019, and Philip Shouse joined the same year as a second guitarist.
That second guitar matters, because it makes this the only Accept record made by a six-piece rather than the usual five. Shouse stayed in the band but did not play on the follow-up, Humanoid, so the line-up is a snapshot of one particular moment. It was also the band's final album for Nuclear Blast, as they signed with Napalm Records in February 2022. For anyone following the band's later years, it is a record worth hearing.
